Rashida Tlaib Excited To Begin Impeachment By Month’s End

Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib, a Democrat from Michigan, told her party leadership on Wednesday that she plans to introduce a resolution this month that would advance impeachment proceedings against President Donald Trump, according to Fox News.

The Congresswoman, one of the first Muslims ever elected to Congress, has major issues with the current administration, and recently joined protestors on Capitol Hill to call out the current administration as the real “emergency.”

“We want to be able to work on these economic justice issues, racial justice issues, and everything. But guess what? There is a wall there, and a constitutional crisis that is not going to be able to have us be able to do our jobs as American Congress members to push a lot of these agendas forward.”

When pressured by reporters as to the sentiments of her fellow party members, Tlaib took the liberty of speaking for all Democrats:

“I think that every single colleague of mine agrees there are impeachable offenses. That’s one thing we all agree on. We may disagree on the pace. We may disagree that we have to wait on certain hearings, but at the same time, I think they all know the dangers of allowing President Trump to continue to violate our United States Constitution.”

However, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has made it clear that she believes talk of impeachment is premature.

“When the facts are known, then we can make a judgment,” Pelosi said last week according to Fox News.

Tlaib isn’t completely alone in her efforts to impeach as the congresswoman is joined, at least by her fellow Muslim congresswoman Rep. Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, both of whom have signed onto a plan called the “Pledge to Impeach” according to The Hill.

Both of the congresswomen appear on videos released by the advocacy group: “Tick tock Individual 1,” Tlaib says in a video.

“We’re going to hold everyone accountable to the law, including the president of-of the United States.”

Tlaib went on to say that “it will be my pleasure to support this and I just can’t wait for us to show especially the families in my district that we are going to hold everyone accountable to the law, including the President of the United States.”
