After a California man was caught on camera calling for his congregation to butcher unbelievers during a sermon, he reminded his critics that he was exercising his “First Amendment right.” However, just days after he defended his violent invocation, he received an incredibly rude awakening.
On July 21, Imam Ammar Shahin addressed the crowd at the Islamic Center of Davis, California, specifically quoting some of the commands found within the Quran and hadith.
Reading the Islamic prophet Muhammad’s own words, Shahin cited the passage in which Muhammad vowed that the long-awaited Judgment Day won’t come until Muslims kill every last Jew, which is found in 5 of the 6 accepted hadith collections.
After video footage surfaced of Shahin’s genocidal sermon, he and his mosque quickly defended the incitement to violence, reminding critics that he had “exercised his First Amendment right” to call for the mass slaughter of Jewish “filth” and that anyone who opposes it is “Islamophobic.”
Unfortunately for him, Shahin’s forgetting that the U.S. isn’t governed by Sharia law and that it’s illegal in our country to incite people to mass murder.
CBS Sacramento reports that countless outraged citizens are calling for action of their own — felony charges against Shahin and surveillance of the mosque that defended his racial and religious incitement. Along with thousands of civilians who’ve expressed their disdain for Shahin’s promotion of jihad, Rabbi Shmary Brownstein, his wife Sorele, and Rabbi Mendy Cohen are spearheading the campaign to stop the bigoted imam and mosque from producing more terrorists.
“He spelled out what he wishes for every Muslim who follows the Quran and the Hadith to follow what the Hadith says which is …find the Jews hiding behind trees and stones and kill them,” said Sorele Brownstein.
“To me, it’s clear this is direct incitement,” said Shmary Brownstein.
“This is what we suffered throughout the years. We’re not going to let Davis become like the neighborhoods in Paris where police can’t go,” said Cohen.
Realizing that they will likely face an investigation, the mosque quickly turned from piously supporting Shanin’s every word to apologizing and purporting that his sermon, which was in Arabic, was taken “out of context.” Of course, this is the go-to claim when Muslims are confronted over their religion’s texts, which is why we provided Shanin’s exact words and the unadulterated hadith passage to which he was referring side by side.
“Allah does not change the situation of people ‘until they change their own situation.’ The Prophet Muhammad said: ‘Judgment Day will not come until the Muslims fight the Jews, and the Jews hide behind stones and trees, and the stones and the trees say: Oh Muslim, oh servant of Allah…‘” Shanin stated.
“Abu Huraira reported Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: The last hour would not come unless the Muslims will fight against the Jews and the Muslims would kill them until the Jews would hide themselves behind a stone or a tree and a stone or a tree would say: Muslim, or the servant of Allah, there is a Jew behind me; come and kill him…” (Muslim 6985)
Shanin cleverly omitted the words “there is a Jew behind me, so kill him” not because he doesn’t support the command but because his followers know the passage in its entirety. His omission was intended to give him the chance to refute critics’ claims of incitement to violence. Unfortunately, he mentioned this violence elsewhere in his sermon.
“Oh Allah, support the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the rest of the Muslim lands,” Shahin said. “Oh Allah, liberate the Al-Aqsa Mosque from the filth of the Jews. Oh Allah, destroy those who closed the Al-Aqsa Mosque. Oh Allah, show us the black day that You inflict upon them, and the wonders of Your ability. Oh Allah, count them one by one and annihilate them down to the very last one. Do not spare any of them.“
Despite designated terrorist group CAIR and the less than 3 percent of Muslim-Americans’ claim that Muslims are the biggest victims of hate crimes, FBI statistics confirm that most hate crimes are committed against Jews, which continues to rise with Muslim growth.
Disturbingly, Jew-hatred isn’t the only religious and racial hatred in the Quran. Over 100 times, the Quran commands violence, persecution, subjugation, and hatred toward non-Muslims. Because our annihilation is explicitly commanded in the Quran, it is what’s preached in every mosque across the globe, which is why we can never coexist with Islam.
